Cambodia is highly exposed to the effects of climate change. By 2030, the runoff throughout the Mekong Basin is expected to increase by 21%. Net Vulnerability Resilience Index declared that, Cambodia is the 4th most vulnerable state out of 95 countries. Along with the continuous growth of more than 7% per year, there is an important increase of the cargo passing through the Cambodian ports. Maritime trade and port infrastructure are key factors for the Cambodian economic competitiveness. The depletion of natural resources, vulnerability of community fisheries, food security, water resource management, maritime and intermodal transport, and port efficiency are central issues in Cambodia. These topics, because of their complexity, require multidisciplinary research.
